Bipedal standard or open platforms (Nao, Robotis-OP2, NimbRo-OP, and Thormang) make soccer robots accessible to many research groups, advanced 3D simulation games make the investigation of team play with complex heterogeneous humanoid robots possible, and soccer games for larger robots are a step towards playing with humans. The ultimate goal of this initiative is to develop a team of humanoid soccer players - i.e. robots with human-like awareness of the game situation, efficient and safe dynamic motion skills, and cooperation abilities. This poses a unique set of challenges to robotics, AI, and other fields. ## Objective: The workshop aims at bringing together researchers from the RoboCup and FIRA communities, as well as other researchers interested in the subject. The full-day program will consist of invited talks, contributed presentations, and a panel discussion. ## Submission: All contributed presentations are subject to a peer review process. * Full papers: We solicit submissions of original, previously unpublished research papers. Papers should be up to 6 pages in length, formatted according to IEEE conference layout (two-column). * Abstracts: Authors interested mainly to give a workshop presentation may submit a one-page abstract of their presentation. Submit your contribution through EasyChair: https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=hsr15 ## Topics of Interest include, but are not limited to: - Behavior control architectures - Bipedal locomotion - Design of humanoid robots - Dynamic motions - Heterogeneous humanoid robots - Humanoid-human interaction - Motion and action planning - Perception of the game situation - Safe and compliant humanoid robots - Skill and strategy learning - Team coordination - 3D simulation of humanoid robots ## Important Dates - Paper submission: October 7th, 2015 - Acceptance notification: October 15th, 2015 - Final paper: October 31st, 2015 - Workshop day: November 3rd, 2015 ## Workshop Organizers - Sven Behnke, University of Bonn, Germany - Daniel D. This edition of the conference will be jointly organized by the School of Engineering, University of Minho, INESC-TEC and APCA and will be co-sponsored by IFAC. The conference will be held September 14-16, 2016, at the campus of University of Minho, in Guimarães, a Portuguese world heritage city, 55 kilometers to the north of Porto. The proceedings of the conference will be published in the Springer Lecture Notes on Electrical Engineering, indexed by ISI Proceedings, EI-Compendex, SCOPUS, MetaPress, Springerlink. CONTROLO 2016 will provide an excellent opportunity for presenting new results and to discuss the latest research and developments in the field of automatic control. While the topics of CONTROLO 2016 should be as wide as possible, we would like CONTROLO 2016 to become a privileged place to affirm the understated contribution of control and automation in general to human well-being. Whenever relevant, prospective authors are strongly encouraged to stress such contribution in their reported research and technology developments, so that a coherent overall picture can emerge from the conference and this gains a distinctive character. The social and cultural program of the conference will include: ? The welcome reception that will be held at archaeological Museu Martins Sarmento and will be preceded by a visit to the historic center of Guimarães. ? The gala dinner that will be held at Pousada Mosteiro de Guimarães, a 18th century monastery magnificently rehabilitated and redesigned for tourism. Submissions should be made through the Easychair submission system until January 22, 2016. Please follow this link to enter your submission or to create an Easychair account allowing for the submission of your paper. No final do evento o robô é teu.
