Call for Papers

ROBOT2023 – Sixth Iberian Robotics Conference

http://robot2023.isr.uc.pt/

November 22 - 24, 2023

Coimbra - Portugal

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Sixth Iberian Robotics Conference will take place at the University
of Coimbra on November 2023 and follows the previous editions of the
Iberian Robotics Conference held in Zaragoza 2022, Madrid in 2013,
Lisbon 2015, Seville 2017 and Porto 2019. These previous and successful
events, both from the viewpoint of their scientific and technical
quality, and for the important number of attending delegates, have
motivated us in organizing ROBOT2023.
ROBOT2023 main goal is to continue the precedent efforts in showing the
robotic research and development of new applications in the Iberian
Peninsula. Although focused on the works developed at Iberia the
conference is open for submissions from any country in the world.
The conference proceedings will be published by Springer Lecture Notes
in Networks and Systems series, indexed in Web of Science, dblp and SCOPUS.
Authors of selected papers will be invited to submit an extended and
improved contribution to the Journal of Intelligent and Robotic Systems
(JINT) (https://www.springer.com/journal/10846). The best
industry-related papers will be invited to submit an extended version to
the Emerald Industrial Robot journal
(https://www.emerald.com/insight/publication/issn/0143-991x).
The conference will also award a prize for the Best Paper and the Best
Student Paper, the Best Iberian PhD in Robotics and Best Spanish Master
Thesis (see details here). The winners of the best paper and the best
student paper will be awarded by Springer with a year of free access to
JINT and a book for the value of 150 euros from springer.com.
ROBOT2023 is Organized by: SEIDROB – Sociedad Española para la
Investigación y Desarrollo en Robótica and SPR – Sociedade Portuguesa de
Robótica and will feature a set of special sessions in distinct fields
related to robotics.

----------------
CONFERENCE SCOPE
----------------
We invite original contributions in all areas relevant to robotics,
covering mobile, walking, flying, marine, underwater, and industrial
robots. The conference will cover analysis (modelling and simulation)
techniques, design approaches, and practical applications and
realisations of developed robotic systems. Support technologies for
realisation of such systems, namely sensors and actuators, computer
vision and image processing, tactile & haptics devices, control
algorithms and architectures, localization, mapping and navigation,
associated economic, ethical, legal and social considerations are
integral part of the conference theme. Human-robot interaction,
including medical robots, exoskeletons, prostheses and orthoses, as well
as personal and service robots forms an increasingly active and
important pertinent area. A non-exhaustive list of topics and activities
can be found on the website.
