== General Information ==
The IEEE International Conference on Autonomous Robot Systems and
Competitions gathers participants from academia and industry working in
the fields of autonomous robotics and robotics competitions. It is
organized within the 19th Portuguese Robotics Open, a RoboCup-sponsored
regional event. ICARSC 2019 will take place at Gondomar - Porto, the
capital of portuguese goldsmiths, on April 24-26, 2019.
The conference is an event of the Portuguese Society for Robotics (SPR),
co-sponsored by the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society. This year, the
organization is carried out by the University of Porto - Faculty of
Engineering and INESC-TEC, with support from several other research and
higher education institutions such as LIACC, CISTER and Polytechnic of
Porto.
ICARSC 2019 technical program includes 44 papers that will be orally
presented in 11 sessions (see preliminary program online). The program
is organized in a single track to favor discussion and interactions and
it features three invited keynote talks by Bruno Siciliano (PRISMA Lab,
University of Naples Federico II, Italy), Pedro U. Lima (Institute for
Systems and Robotics, Instituto Superior Técnico, U. Lisbon, Portugal)
and Gerhard Kraetzschmar (B-IT Bonn-Aachen International Center of
Information Technology, Germany).
All presented papers will be included in the proceedings and published
by IEEEXplore. There will be a special session with the 4 nominated
papers for the Best Paper Award. The winner will be announced at the
conference banquet. Moreover, extended versions of selected papers will
be invited for submission to special issues in indexed journals.
